LWV Candidate Forums are NONPARTISAN.
The candidates have an opening statement, answer the same 10-15 questions, and have a closing statement.

EARLY VOTING BY MAIL OR IN PERSON IS SEPTEMBER 19 – NOVEMBER 3
For the 2025 elections, the League hosted a candidate forum for White Bear Lake Mayor. The candidates for Mayor are:
- Steve LaLiberte
- Mary Nicklawski
The League does not conduct forums for any uncontested races. None of the 2025 City Council races are contested. A profile of each candidate is available here and our YouTube channel.
Candidates on the ballot are:
- White Bear Lake, Ward 2 – Ellen Gurrola
- White Bear Lake, Ward 4 – Kevin Edberg
Mahtomedi (elect 2)
- Lilly Melander
- Luke Schlegel
Voters in Mahtomedi School District #832 will have a two-question referendum on their ballot: one for operating revenue and one for facility improvements.
Voters in Mounds View School District #621, will be electing three members to the School Board. A candidate forum for that race was hosted by the New Brighton LWV and posted below and on our YouTube channel. Candidates are:
