The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy.
We Empower Voters
The Voter Service Committee:
- Registers citizens who have not yet registered to vote
- Prepares and hosts forums for candidates seeking election
- Educates voters on who and what is on the ballot
- Assists voters in understanding where and how to vote.
We Defend Democracy
Members automatically belong to the state LWV and can:
- Participate in the observer & lobby corps during legislative sessions
- Receive Bulletins on critical legislative issues
- Participate in the Council of Metropolitan Area Leagues
- Join the regional LWV group working on pollution in the Mississippi
- Work with members nationwide at the Federal level
We are a very active group.
