The 2020-2021 program year begins in September and runs through May.
NOTE: Due to Covid-19, and for the foreseeable future, all meetings will be held via Zoom. Current members will be invited and provided a Zoom link to each Unit and General/Public meeting. Guests who wish to attend Unit Meetings should contact Unit Leaders for the Zoom link (see below for contact information).
In our May unit meetings we will hear about Proposals for Police Reform. Current members will receive the Zoom link from their Unit Leaders. Other interested persons are urged to contact unit leaders in the White Bear Lake, North Oaks, Mahtomedi or St. Croix Valley areas to find out how to join the unit meeting. See below for unit leaders’ contact information:

PREVIOUS UNIT MEETINGS
January unit meetings were a Zoom discussion of “A Good Time for the Truth: Race in Minnesota,” edited by Sun Yung Shin. Synopses and reactions to these unit-level discussions can be read in the February Bear Facts newsletter.
March unit meetings re-examined the Voting Rights Act. The now-named John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019 aims to restore the full protections of the original, bipartisan Voting Rights Act of 1965, which was last reauthorized by Congress in 2006, but gutted by the Supreme Court in 2013. See the March Bear Facts newsletter for synopses and reactions to these discussions.
